In yet another crowded field at the annual IF3 Awards in Montreal, ZIG ZAG pulled a hat trick this past weekend taking home awards for Best Street Segment (Peyben Hägglund), Best Freeride Segment (Parker White) and Film of the Year.
Peyben Hägglund has been quietly making a name for himself over the last few seasons and officially puts his name on the map in a year that produced a collection of some of the most impactful street segments of all time, standing out in a crowd of nominations that included Phil Casabon, Will Wesson, Keegan Kilbride, and Alex Hackel.
Parker White reunited with Level 1 Director Freedle Coty this year and swung for the fences- the duo hit their groove chasing snow across Switzerland and the Pacific Northwest over the course of the season and produced the standout segment of Parker’s career- and that’s saying something.
As for movie of the year, well, we went back to the original Level 1 formula and let the action do all the talking in a year where we’ll argue that we had the best crew in skiing. Is Zig Zag the heaviest collection of action, start to finish, that Level 1 has ever put together in a single film? You’ll have to let us know...
